When I was interviewing during my senior year of college, the interviewer glanced at my resume and said, “So you're fluent in French? Big deal, so is my wife.”

Well …. What was I supposed to do with that? So I responded, “Oh, is she interviewing for this job also?”

He glared at me and said, “No, of course not. Why would you think that?”

I told him that he was the one who brought up his wife, so I assumed she was relevant to our discussion. He got so angry that I just decided to get up and leave.

40 years later, and I still can't figure out why he dragged his wife into the conversation.
