Books by endurance athletes: all depressed by the inevitable decline in performance, which you can of course slow down (or reverse as I did), but you are fighting the clock.

Instead look at things that IMPROVE w/age: erudition, wisdom, experience, sophistication, finances.

1. Endurance /ɪnˈdʊrəns/ n.

2. Depressed adj.

e.g. She's been depressed ever since she lost her job.

e.g. I get depressed when it's cloudy for days on end.

e.g. The economy is so depressed right now.

e.g. he housing market has been depressed for years.

3. inevitable /ɪnˈevɪtəb(ə)l/ adj.

It's going to happen no matter what.

It's bound to happen.

There's no way to stop it.

4. Which 引导定语从句, 指代前文的the inevitable decline in performance

5. Fight the clock

e.g. In the final minutes of the game, the team was fighting the clock to score a last-minute goal.

e.g. As you get older, you start to realize that you're fighting the clock in many areas of life.

6. Erudition /ˌerjəˈdɪʃ(ə)n/ n.
