hold off on doing something 延迟做某事, 推迟做某事(先别做, 以后再做)

e.g  She decided to hold off on quitting her job until she found a new one. 她决定在找到新工作之前暂不辞职。

e.g. To be honest, I've been holding off on buying that new smartphone, because I'm saving up for a vacation. 说实话，我一直没买那个新款智能手机，因为我正在攒钱度假。

e.g. Can you just hold off on deciding about moving out till we talk about it? 你能不能先别决定搬出去, 等我们先聊一下再说.

e.g. why don't you hold off on telling Mike about this? 我觉得这事先别跟Mike说吧?
