【基础英语】The plant is growing up 是错的？

The plant is growing 还是The plant is growing up? 

grow这个词可以表示物体或人的生长发展。比如数量变大，更成熟，发展更强等。

1）可以用在植物的生长：The flowers in my garden are growing beautifully. 我花园里的花朵正在美丽地生长。

2）可以用在动物的成长：The puppy has grown into a strong and healthy dog. 小狗已经长成了一只强壮健康的狗。

3）可以用在人类的发育：Children grow very fast during their early years. 儿童在早期成长得很快。

4）可以用在组织或企业的扩张：Our business has grown significantly over the past year. 我们的业务在过去一年里有了显著增长。

grow up 只能用在描述人的成长过程：

e.g. I want to be a doctor when I grow up. 她长大后想成为一名医生。
