Jam 的用法

1）基本意思，果酱

e.g. Can you pass me the jar of jam? 你能把果酱罐递给我吗？

2)堵塞

e.g. There was a traffic jam on the highway this morning.今天早上高速公路上堵车了。

3) jammed 还可以用于描述其他物品被卡住或夹住的情况。

e.g. The printer jammed and I had to fix it. 打印机卡纸了，我的修一下。

e.g. The zipper on my jacket jammed and I couldn't zip it up. 拉链卡住了，我拉不上去。

I had to call a plumber because the drain was jammed with hair.  我得叫一下水管工，因为我们家下水道被头发堵住了。
