Pejorative  /pɪˈdʒɔːr.ə.t̬ɪv/ adj. 贬抑的,贬损的; 


meaning: expressing disapproval or suggesting that something is not good or is of no importance. 


1) 词根: pej- 表示ped- 脚(pedal 脚踏板)

2) 后缀: -or, -ative 形容词后缀



e.g. Make sure students realize that “fat” is a pejorative word. 一定要让学生明白 fat(肥胖)是贬损词。
