Evict /ɪˈvɪkt/ v. 驱逐;逐出

Meaning: If someone is evicted from the place where they are living, they are forced to leave it, usually because they have broken a law or contract


1) 前缀:e- 表示ex-向外(export, exit)

2) 词根:vict-表示胜利,征服(Victor, victory) 


e.g. He was evicted from the bar for drunken and disorderly behaviour. 他因为醉酒及暴力滋事被赶出酒馆
