【轻阅读,看世界】What's the most shocking thing you found in your spouse's possessions?

After my husband died of cancer in 2017, I was cleaning up his office and found a letter from his oncologist. The letter said his tumor was terminal and that he would live for 4-6 months and would remain on chemotherapy until then.

I knew my husband had cancer. And he told me he would fight it again, like last time.

He never mentioned the letter or the diagnosis the doctor gave him. The letter was dated November 2016. My husband entered liver failure on April 9, 2017. I had no idea he was terminal, so I was struggling to keep him alive. Talking to doctors to do what we can. Surgery was performed again to unblock the bile duct. And they did.

My husband, however, never told me anything about terminal cancer and its 4-6 months of life.

He passed away on May 26, 2017.

I think he wanted to deny that he had to die. And he also didn't want me or the kids to spend the last 6 months of his life crying and being sad.

He took the kids skiing in Colorado in January 2017.

He and I took a trip to Miami in February 2017.

I think he knew deep down that he was going to die. But accepting your own mortality is a difficult thing for some people to do.

He was a fantastic man.

Edit - thanks for all the votes, they are worth a lot to me.

I thought I'd add a photo of my husband and me before he had cancer. Just to show how healthy a handsome man he was. Before the cancer came and took everything away from him and us
