商务表达：be on the ball 机谨（机灵+谨慎），小心；反应快理解能力强 （alert and quick-thinking)

来源于体育欲动，在球场上拿到球之后，第一你要小心谨慎，留心身边可能出现的威胁和问题，别人人把球抢走了。第二个你要反应迅速，思维敏捷，观察周围情况，理解情况与形式，迅速作出下一步的决策。所以就是小心谨慎，和理解能力强反应快这两个意思。

常见搭配：be on the ball/stay on the ball

e.g. I didn't sleep well last night and I'm not really on the ball today. 我昨天晚上休息不好，今天反应有点慢。

e.g. Sam’s great – he’s really on the ball and never makes any mistakes. 山姆很不错，他很聪明很谨慎，从来不犯错。

e.g. I recommend you stay on the ball with those subcontractors to make sure everyone is doing their work on time or there could be a major problem a few months later. 我建议，你多盯着那些分销商让他们能暗示完成工作，否则几个月后可能有大问题。
