一、旅游口语－－planning a trip

Peter: I am going to visit America alone.

Laura: Alone?
Peter: Yes, I prefer DIY traveling to package tours.
Laura: What are you planning to do during your stay there?
Peter: Just tour around the city on foot.
Laura: That sounds great. How much is your budget?
Peter: I'm not going to use too much money on accommodation.
Laura: Then maybe you could stay at a hostel like many backpackers do.
Peter: What a good idea!

2) If you are alone, I can keep you company. (That's so sweet of you. )

3) prefer A to B 跟B比起来，更喜欢A (名词／动名词)

7) sound + adj. 听起来….

If I were you, I would do something….

My wife and I are going on a trip this month. 我和我老婆打算出去旅游。

We haven't decided yet. But we probably go to Sanya.

扩展问题1: Why you want to go to Sanya?

参考：Because I'm a big of fan of all those beaches, and sands and the weather there is really comfy this season. It's neither too cold nor too hot.

I heard it has a wonderful culture, lots of nice architectures and very good food.

扩展问题2: When it comes to going on a trip, do you prefer to go there alone or with a tour group?

参考：I prefer to travel alone. It's not because I don't like people. (It's not because I'm a lone wolf) but I like to immerse myself in a language, forget where I come from and learn more about the people I'm around.

1) 台词：

连读：辅音＋元音

略读：相似辅音。

2) top-notch 顶级的

例句：Try these cupcakes. My wife made them. They are top-notch.

例句：You don't have to spend so much money sending your children to top-notch private schools. Maybe you could teach them to take care of their own life. If they want a better education, they better earn it.

3) put out 扑灭

例句：Remember to put out campfire before you leave.

● Put away 放起来，收好；Put away your books. Your room is such a mess.

● Put up or shut up! 你行你上，要不就别说话。

● put 表达；Let me put it this way.

● Stay put. 呆着别动。

2. Can i bum a smoke?

1) 台词：

Can⌒I bum⌒a smoke? 有烟吗？

1) 连读：辅音＋元音

2) 语调：疑问句语气上扬。

2) Can I do sth? 我能做某事吗？（礼貌语气要求做某事）

例句：Can I have a medium Latté, to go please?

例句：Can I order now?

扩展：Can I try this on, please?

3) Bum a smoke 要一支烟

● You got a ligher?

● Bummer 倒霉，糟糕的事物。

例句：My wife and I like to try different restaurants. Some restaurants are very reasonable but their food is very tasty. Others, however, charge a lot yet the food is lousy. But none of them we've tried could be worse than the Chinese restaurant close to my home. It's a real bummer.
